05 September ➬ IPPD – 6PPD conversion

Due to the ECHA's classification at the time with regard to IPPD and the associated withdrawal of Lanxess, the demand situation and availability changed drastically. 

Since there are only 2 reach-certified providers worldwide and the permitted import quantities have been reduced to a maximum of 2.000 t/year, the IPPD prices have virtually gone through the roof, driven by the increased certification costs and the limited quantities.

Many IPPD customers switched to the 6PPD product wherever possible in order to strengthen this production reliability.

Demand for 6PPD has therefore increased dramatically compared to previous years, which has resulted in 6PPD now being more expensive than IPPD...
